Privacy Policy
We built NepalStatus to be useful without invasive tracking. This page explains what we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect it.
Data We Collect
- Issue type selected in report forms
- Optional city/provider fields submitted by the user
- Timestamps for report and check events
- Service check telemetry (HTTP code, response time, and check outcome)
IP Handling and Abuse Prevention
To reduce spam and duplicate reports, we need a repeat-submission signal. We do not store raw IP addresses for report identity. We use hashed identifiers for anti-abuse controls and short-window deduplication.
Cookies
We use essential cookies for session integrity and CSRF protection. We do not use cross-site ad tracking cookies.
Data Retention
- Raw report-level data is kept for operational detection windows.
- Aggregated statistics may be retained for trend analysis and reliability baselines.
- Operational logs may be retained for security and incident audits.
Third-Party Services
Where third-party tools are used (for infrastructure or analytics), we keep integrations minimal and focused on operational reliability.
